This was my second visit to Sicily and first trip to Verdura Resort. I was thrilled to be invited by Rocco Forte Hotelsto sample this unique property. I had heard so much about the award-winningspa, expansive golf-courses and the range of different restaurants on offer and I could not wait to sample them all.
As we approached the entrance, I could not believe the vast landscape surrounding the resort, almost two kilometres of private Mediterranean coastline. Greeted by a cold glass of Prosecco on the terrace and taken to my stunning suite, it did not take me long to immerse myself into the range of facilitieson offer. The three course meal that evening at Granita was more of a culinary experience with fabulous Sicilian wines to complement the fresh food. This set the tone for the entire trip.
Despite the range of facilities on my doorstep, I did not want to leave the comfort of my stunning Grand Suite which was so large, I actually could not locate the bathroom at first! (much to my embarrassment!). I simply loved the interiors which were a perfect blend of modern design mixed with Sicilian style. Interior Designer, Olga Polizzi certainly did an amazing job. Boasting magnificent views of the turquoise sea, I enjoyed the sunrise from the expansive terrace before making my way down to breakfast with Verdu, the Kids Club Mascot Hedgehog who spoke about all of the upcoming exciting plans for the new Kids Club at Verdura which I can just tell, is going to be spectacular.
The rest of the trip was a series of unforgettable experiences from cookery classes to aperitifs in the superb Presidential Suite, I even had my first golf lesson, only to discover that I was a natural of course! From the stunning wine tastings at Planeta vineyard to sampling the spa facilities, everything about this unique and stunning resort was faultless and I truly believe that there is something for everyone here. I would return again in a second
