It has been 5 years since my last visit to Columbia Beach Resort and I was extremely excited to see the updates and developments at the hotel. Following a relaxing flight from Manchester, I had escaped the chill of the English Winter and had entered the warmth of the Mediterranean just in time for a special dinner at the Il Buchetto restaurant.
The following morning, I woke up to stunning views of the pool from my suite. I enjoyed an al fresco breakfast before touring the resort and exploring all of the facilities on offer before heading to the Nick Faldo designed Elea Estate Golf Club for lunch and of course, a golf lesson with their resident pro.
The Cyprus climate in November is the perfect time to explore the island. I took a trip to the mountains, picturesque Omodhos Village and winery and indulged in a delicious and traditional Cypriot meze lunch at the Stou Kir Yianni before exploring the local village square of Pissouri, just 10 minutes from the resort. That evening, I sampled the Bacchus Italian Gourmet Restaurant where I feasted on fresh food made from local ingredients by their Michelin trained chef.
I took full advantage of that fact that my flight was an afternoon flight which meant I could enjoy all of the resorts facilities on offer before immiserise myself in the Hebe spa, the perfect way to relax before the journey home. A long weekend at Columbia Beach is the perfect way to escape to a resort which can cater to everyone; keen golf lovers, spa lovers, couples and families though a weekend here is simply not enough to fully appreciate everything that this Cyprian resort has to offer
