I have been lucky enough to discover the “Isle of Spice” myself back in 2011 and I was very excited to be returning this time to see the renowned Spice Island Beach Resort.
As I enjoyed all of the services that flying with Club with British Airways had to offer, I couldn’t decide what I was looking foward to the most, seeing the stunning two-mile Grand Anse beach once again or the sound of the tree frogs singing at night, at Spice Island, I could experience both as the resort is set directly on the most stunning stretch of beach and nestled in wild seagrape trees, you could never know the resort was there looking from the distance but once you travel the short 10 minute transfer from the airport, you know you have arrived.
Greeted with a spiced rum punch, I was taken to my suite which I can describe better as my very own private villa. The Royal Collection Pool Suite featured not only its own private pool but private sauna and decking area so you can retreat in privacy and soak up the Caribbean sunshine. I discovered that these suites couldn’t be more perfect for couples – complete with a fullyservicedbar and lounge, the Royal Collectionsuites have stunning rooms and the largest bathroom I have experienced in a while.
As a fully-inclusive resort, for a small charge, you can even indulge in all of the dining options in the resort, in the comfort of your own suite. I did not want to leave the suite but I simply couldn’t resist experiencing all of the facilities this award-winning resort has to offer from the tucked-away spa to the multi-course dining affairs at Oliver’s Restaurant.
Spice Island Beach Resort really does put the “Spice” in the Isle of Spice.
